Prof. Dr. Ludovic De Cuypere

Dr. Ludovic DE CUYPERE (°1978) is an Associate Professor of English Linguistics at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a Research Support Officer at the Linguistics Department of Ghent University. He obtained his PhD in 2007 with an epistemological investigation of iconicity in language, published as Limiting the Iconic (Benjamins, 2008). His research has focused on alternating syntactic constructions, which he has studied in a wide variety of languages and from multiple perspectives (synchronic, diachronic, foreign language acquisition). He has contributed to the methodological design and statistical analysis of multiple studies which appeared in international journals such as Language Sciences, English Language and Linguistics, Revue Romane, and many more. A strong believer in Open Science, he has published several datasets on TROLLing.
