Prof. Dr. Ine Van Linthout
Biography
Ine Van linthout obtained her PhD from the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Antwerp. Her dissertation about “Das Buch in der nationalsozialistischen Propagandapolitik” was published in 2012 by De Gruyter (Berlin/Boston). She is a lecturer and researcher of German and Translation Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the cofounder and director of the Belgian-German cultural organization dasKULTURforum Antwerpen. Her main research areas are translation studies, translation and book history, sociological approaches to literature, discourse analysis, national image construction, censorship and propaganda with a special focus on the period of Nazi dictatorship and the Second World War. In 2021 she received the Federal Cross of Merit from the Federal Republic of Germany for her commitment to the German language and culture.
