Dr. Valentina Di Nunno
Biography
Valentina Di Nunno holds a PhD in Linguistics from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), with a bilateral cooperation through a Joint PhD program in collaboration with the University of Seville. Her current research focuses on intercultural pragmatics and second language acquisition, specifically the teaching of discourse markers in Spanish as a second language. In addition to her doctoral project, which is supervised by Prof. Dr. An Vande Castele and Dr. Catalina Fuentes Rodríguez, she has contributed to the implementation of the interuniversity project “Pracomul,” in collaboration with the University of Seville, the University of Palermo, and the University of Ljubljana. She is also a member of the research group CROS-CROSSING THE BORDER BETWEEN ENGLISH AND SPANISH, a collaborative initiative between Ghent University (UGent) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Since 2015, she has been active in the field of language pedagogy, working as a secondary school teacher of Spanish and Italian as foreign languages. She currently holds a teaching position at a secondary institute in Parma, Italy.
